Everyone on the internet is using google adsense to try and become rich, but people don’t think about the potential business they are diverting from their site. Yea it is possible to make a buck or two on a well paying google adsense keyword, but what are you losing from doing it. The more ads you place on your site, the more chances you are giving people to leave your site and begin shopping on someone else’s site off of the google adsense ads.

Think about it, by placing a google adsense ad on your website you are giving people a list of your competitor’s website links. Generally you put ads that are relevant to your website meaning they are competition. Plus, most people are aware that the best place to put an ad to make google adsense money is on the top. By doing this you are giving people a chance to click on your competitor’s site before even looking at your site. So is it really worthwhile to place ads?

If you’re sites revenue is based off of google adsense and other advertisements, then yes of course it’s worthwhile to place ads. Obviously then you have no competition to go up against and you are receiving nothing but benefits. Also, if you have a site that has an extremely centered niche that is not on the internet too much it is worth placing google ads. This is because people will get the information from your site and click on the ads only to find that it is similar but not the same.

If you are familiar with google adsense you are aware that you can place up to three google adsense ads on each page. However, you do not want to do this because it lowers the chance of your visitors clicking on the more expensive ads. This also gives your visitors more chances to click away from your site. By placing one ad on a page you have narrowed it down to the most expensive ad and cleaned up the clutter on your page.

If you feel that you must place an ad on your page despite the chances of losing business revenue, place the ad below the fold. This will give people a chance to read your content and if they are not satisfied they can click on the ad and you can at least make something.

So, be careful when placing google adsense ads on your website. You never know how much business you are actually losing just to make a little google adsense money. With the proper research and awareness of your competition, you should be able to make the decision yourself on whether or not it is worth it to place google adsense ads on your website.
